EID MUBARAK TO our readers across the world.

We pray that Allah accepts our good deeds, sacrifice, and Hajj in these ten best days.

The rites of Hajj are an annual reminder of Ibrahim’s (as) lifelong sincerity, sacrifice, and tawakkul in Allah and a symbol of the unity of this ummah.

Ibrahim (as) built the ka’baa with his son Ismael (as) purely for the sake of Allah and His worship alone.

However, over time, that pure worship became corrupted. By the time of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the ka’baa housed the idol of each of the Arabian tribes, and many forms of indecency were perpetrated at the Hajj.

It was Muhammad ﷺ, the descendant of Ibrahim (as), who once again restored the Sacred House to the worship of Allah alone by establishing the Madinan state built on the singular concept of laa ilaha illAllah.

Sadly we have seen a backward step, with the dominance of the kufr way of life and its effect on the Muslim mindset and lands. We have even seen recently a return to some pagan customs and depravity in the Sacred land.

Our role today is as it was given by the Prophet ﷺ when he said on the day of Arafah:

‘O People, no prophet will come after me, and no new deen will be born. Reason well, therefore, O people, and understand the words that I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Quran and my example, the Sunnah, and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again, and it may be that the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O Allah, that I have conveyed your message to your people.’

So let’s make an effort to understand our deen and hold onto the Book and the Sunnah. Let’s carry the dawah to all those around us. And as Ibrahim (as) showed us, to do so not just as individuals but altogether as a family to restore the Islamic way of life once again.

May Allah reward you all and have a blessed Eid.
